Deconstructed Apple Crumble

 I need something sweet after dinner.



Not want. Need.



After developing this healthy apple crumble, I now have a delicious,

satisfying dessert that I can indulge in whenever the craving hits!



You will love this because it's sweet, it's simple and it's oh so




If you're not having dairy, then why not try serve it with whipped up coconut cream or a coconut based yoghurt? YUM!



D E C O N S T R U C T E D  A P P L E  C R U M B L E  

Serves 1-2 people


1 apple, core & skin removed, cut into cubes

1 tsp coconut oil

½ tsp ground cinnamon

1 tsp raw honey


For the crumble:


1 tsp coconut oil

1 Tbsp pecans, roughly chopped

1/2 tsp coconut sugar

1 tsp coconut flour

Pinch of rock salt


100ml plain full cream yoghurt, to serve


  1. Place the apple, coconut oil, cinnamon and raw honey into a saucepan over a medium heat. Give the ingredients a stir, pop a lid on and allow the apple to cook until softened, around 6-8 minutes.

  2. Meanwhile make the crumble: place all of the crumble ingredients into a bowl and combine. Place onto a small pan over a medium heat and cook for 3-4 minutes or until the pecans have been toasted and the sugar has melted. Be careful not to burn the pecans!

  3. Remove both the crumble and the apple from the heat once done and plate: place apple into your bowl, top with yoghurt and finish with pecan crumble.
