Afterdark Cacao & Goji Berry Smoothie Bowl

 I'm just obsessed with one of the latest food crazes to hit SA! Smoothie bowls have been aroun for ages but what I have loved is seeing the creativity in the presentation! Beautiful Instagram pages full of striking ideas to make your breakfast that much more exciting!

 

My health has also had a recent obsession and her name is Jessica Sepel, a health & wellness blogger, speaker and author from Australia. I purchased her cookbook a few months ago and it has seriously changed my outlook when it comes to nourishing the body and feeding the soul. Buy your copy today! After trying out some of her recipes, particularly her breakfast ideas, I decided that skinny scoop needed to have a few smoothie bowl recipe features! So here is the first of these nourishing gems!

 

A F T E R D A R K  C A C A O   &   G O J I   S M O O T H I E  B O W L

 

1/2 x 175ml tub of Afterdark Cacao skinny scoop protein ice cream

1 frozen banana

2 ice cubes

1 Tbsp goji berries, soaked for 20 minutes or overnight

1 tsp chia seeds

200ml unsweetened almond milk

1 tsp raw cacao 

1 tsp raw honey

 

1 tsp goji berries, to serve

2 block 85% Lindt chocolate, chopped, to serve

 

1. Place all of the smoothie bowl ingredients into a Nutribullet or high power blender. Blend until smooth.

2. Pour into a bowl and serve immediately with goji berries and chopped dark chocolate.

 

TIP: If you want boost the protein and make it even creamier, add one scoop of CIPLA Platinum Advanced Whey Swiss Chocolate flavour
